Saturday, October 1, 2011 - Really good. The nose is subtle upon opening and is initially a little too screechy and volatile upon opening. But, after slow-oxing for three hours, everything integrates. The nose blossoms and becomes fragrant with dark fruit and a little leather. The wine itself is vinous, with pronounced minerality and earthiness. The tannins have almost completely resolved, leaving a little bitterness on the finish. It also has classic weightlessness in the mouth while also being intensely flavorful.
