Saturday, April 1, 2006 - A relatively unevolved pale mid yellow colour. Some honeyed notes on the nose opening out to slightly minerally, chalky scents. Clean attack, quite full and concentrated, minerally and slightly lime-tinged still. Chalk comes through on the palate. Very elegant, persistent and long. Obvious GC quality. Just starting to think about turning from pure minerality to something with slightly more honey to the fruit. Classic chablis rather than an oaky blockbuster. Drinking nicely now but absolutely no hurry. Given some recent concerns about the vintage, a relief to discover this is performing as one would hope.
