Friday, November 11, 2011 - I liked this wine alot. It took 1-2hr to open up but was otherwise everything I expected from mature bdx. Earthy, smooth, with plenty of residual tannin. It really shined with the roasted meats. Acidity to spare. Night 2 - able to concentrate on this and the Dominus from last night without the other 12 btls distraction. The lunch has a wonderful eucalyptus, herbaceousness along with tobacco notes. Certainly lacks the fruit of new world wines but the balance between earthiness and red fruit is excellent. Tannins are slightly coarse compared to the '92 Dominus.
