Tuesday, June 16, 2015 - Decanted 90 mins ahead, and it took all of that to open up. Deep garnet color. Nice nose of pine, cherries, hard spices. Delicious and ingratiating on the palate, as red-fruit flavors lead over earth notes. It's medium-bodied with fairly firm acid balance. Finishes well with a bit of grip and low tannins. For about the first hour, this wine was fairly dumb, not showing much in the nose. Once it opened up, it vindicated my faith in Bokisch.
