Saturday, August 14, 2010 - Vintage Tignanello Tasting (Louise's House): This has a real rustic coppery plum core with lots of bricking around the edge.
The nose is rich with plump fruits and pencil lead showing obtusely while notes of tobacco, stone and worn cedar lay underneath.
Dry medium plus acidity but very light tannin structure at this stage. Bold dark fruits are ripe and surprisingly juicy. Lots of game-y notes, black tea and humidor flavors round out the moderate body. This has held up very well. Long fresh finish.
Drink now.
