Tuesday, May 27, 2014 - Green-tinted gold. Screwcap matchstick, then toasted oak, then cabbage and greengage, then sulphur again. Lean on the palate, slightly bitter apricot fruit, grapeskin acidity, toasted oak. Shortish finish. This would have worked with proper acidity but grapeskin alone cannot support such a lean style. The experience is one of anemic Chablis fruit with hot climate acidity: not terribly convincing.
