75 Points

Monday, October 26, 2015 - Bought at Santa Fe wine shop on recommendation of manager. Had high expectations but was badly disappointed. Fruit was present on first taste but faded immediately. Acidic and somewhat flavorless on mid-palate and finish. Wasn't corked just terribly mediocre. Hopefully, this was a "bad" bottle. Otherwise, I cannot figure out how others rated this wine so high. My wife and I could not get past first glass. Tried the next day without noticeable improvement so I poured it out. Total waste of $35.

10/26/2015 8:23:00 PM - What did you ask the manager for? Blame him for recommending a young 'not ready for prime time' AFWE OR Pinot Noir when you would probably enjoy a fruit forward WA syrah or cab much more. While I enjoy the Murto, the '11 does take some work and time to appreciate. Let it sit on the counter for several days or in the cellar for a few more years. The '12 OR pinot may be more to your liking as it was a warmer year and is very drinkable.

They are still tightly wound up, but like the 2007/09 given the right amount of time in they become amazing! Try a 2012 from the same vineyard and you will find an instant difference as they are drinking quite nicely now.

12/13/2015 6:18:00 PM - Try a '12... it's amazing how different 11 and 12 were here in Oregon, in 11 we pretty much had no summer and the wines are super small & still quite shy. 2012 on the other hand was a gorgeous, Californian summer and the wines are big, bright and ready to pop & pour.
