5/31/2014 4:12:00 PM - Point of clarification: This is an Anderson Valley blend of grapes from the various Gowan Creek vineyard blocks. Are you, perhaps, comparing it to a Goldeneye pinot noir blend from all of their vineyards in the Anderson Valley? Or to the Anderson Valley Pinot Noir from another producer? Also, I wonder if the wine might benefit - become more nuanced - from either aeration or more time in the bottle?

6/4/2014 12:24:00 PM - Agorman, I hadn't put the note into the "tasting story" so it was impossible to see this TN was contrasted with the other wines tasted from Duckhorn (Goldeneye/ Migration).

6/11/2014 9:41:00 AM - Burgundy Al, The various Duckhorn holding can be very confusing, even when one takes the time. This is especially true since they've been experimenting with blends of various kinds, single vineyard wines (ex: Goldeneye Gowan Creek), and, more recently, wines from a designated block within a single vineyard (ex. Goldeneye Gowan Creek Lower Bench See https://www.cellartracker.com/list.asp?Table=List&szSearch=Goldeneye+%28Duckhorn+Vineyards%29+Pinot+Noir+Gowan+Creek+Vineyard+%2D+Lower+Bench#selected%3DW1334630_1_Kef195fce93c9166fb12dda8d51c65044). I'm fairly new at this level of winery behavior, so I don't know ow much precedence there is for this kind of progression. Any insight?
