Thursday, February 26, 2015 - Better on day two. Blackberries, a mintiness, spices, and an earthyness that oscillates from meaty to a bit of dirt. The earth provides a bitterness that really helps to offset the buxsome fruit and the confection notes I find in the wine. It's big and strapping of course, and mourvedre is an interesting play on this style handling it better than I would have guessed.
