Thursday, January 17, 2013 - This is a difficult note to write. In short, I loved it and my wife hated it. This is the second time that has happened with this wine. What I tasted was ripe black fruit, garigue, spice and licorice that has mellowed and smoothed into something approaching rustic elegance. My wife tasted stale urine, soured beef blood and tannins slightly tempered by a hint of fruit in the distant background. At the moment, she is clearing her palate with some Taylor 20 Year Old Tawny. I am savoring the remainder of the Pegau and have resolved to reserve our remaining bottles for boy's night out occasions. The score is mine.
