Tuesday, March 4, 2014 - Tuesday Night Double Blind $40+ (Bin 75): Purple ruby that's see through with a lighter rim; rose, watermelon, youthful, violet, minerality; good structure, tart, almost candied berry, white rock; very good; lots of nobility and good aging potential; need to get some of this.

11/24/2014 8:54:00 AM - Thanks. That is one of the few bottles I'm picking up in the sale because it's a great value. Gonna get a few more white Burgs...been really enjoying them lately. Michelot Meursault Perrieres and Chanson Clos des Mouches. How was Lusca?

11/24/2014 7:12:00 PM - Cool. Lusca was OK. Too salty for my taste. I brought this bottle to the restaurant and drank with quail. I've had much better quail at other similarly or cheaper priced restaurants. I feel there are too many other good restaurants out there to repeat a visit to this one given its cost. I will say that there raw bar appears to be good. I tried one eel roll and it was really good. However, I am not much of a raw bar person.

11/24/2014 7:36:00 PM - I hear you. Many of these restaurants have such tiny portions and load it with too much seasoning. These big, bold flavors are just overdone...especially for us Burg drinkers. So many people are killing their palates with 130 proof vanilla popsicle Bourbons and overhopped beer (please don't take offense if those hit close to home).
I love raw bars because whites get to shine so well. I rarely get to drink them with our wine group.
