Tuesday, August 12, 2014 - This is a orange wine. In the first years of the new millenium Peter Jacob Kühn made a sharp course change. He worked onlyorganic and biodynamic, he operated with longer maceration for his Riesling. This 2004 Riesling is very Special, the colour is more orange than yellow (orange wine ;-)) the nose is much more phenolic than usal and on the palate you have on he one hand tertiary flavours like polish, wood and dried herbs, on the other hand there is a wonderful balanced acidity and the wine is in itself absolutely consistent; by the way: bonedry! This wine is not easy drinking at it's not a typical Riesling but this 2004 St. Nikolaus Riesling trocken (dry) is a very interesting and philosophic wine.
