Wednesday, June 10, 2015 - Annual DRC tasting dinner in Stockholm, to check out the 2012’s.
This is a fabulous showing from a new, hardly even released yet, Échézeaux!
Nose is big and amazingly concentrated with spicy deep ripe cherries, smoky minerals, animals, gunpowder and dusty flint stone, mocha, touch of earth and fine Vosne spices.
Palate shows clean both sweet and tart fat fruit, concentrated and deep, with minerals and some tannins & spicy bitterness on the very long finish.
A very fine Échézeaux, that without a doubt shows that this vineyard is worthy of its Grand Cru status, at least when the wine comes from this source.
Great young wine, with loads of potential!
