2013 Littorai Pinot Noir Vin Gris

Community Tasting Note

Wednesday, October 29, 2014 - Lively aromatics upon opening...orange rind, tangerine, strawberry, lemon/lime. Full of flesh in the mouth with good weight, and flavors of underripe strawberry, lemon/lime. Medium acids, and soft tannins lead to a nice finish with good intensity and length. On par with what I'd expect from this producer.

10/29/2014 7:22:00 PM - Nice note, you nailed the aromatics. I recently had this wine and think that it could've used some more acidity for my palate and expectations of rosé. It was texturally very interesting, though. I think I'm going to hang onto a couple and see what happens.

10/29/2014 9:47:00 PM - Thanks for the comment...I was a little concerned about the freshness/acidity in reading some of the early notes, but found this bottle reasonably fresh. Maybe there's some bottle variation or its just a touch fatter due to the warm/hot vintage. Haven't tried any prior vintages so don't have that frame of reference. Could easily see the '10 and '11 being significantly leaner.
