90 Points

Friday, October 22, 2010 - 14.8% alcohol. This wine was served to me in double-blind fashion at Vintage Wines, Ltd. It was serially tasted over three hours. The bottle was kindly brought by Ken Johnson. This wine shows the absolutely blackest, most opaque robe that I have ever seen. I immediately guessed this to be a Petite Sirah even before tasting it. It requires at least 90 minutes prior to making any judgment. The nose shows very intense aromas of crushed blackberries, vanilla and assorted spices. Full bodied on the palate, with low acidity, monstrous sweet tannins, well-integrated alcohol and flavors in line with the nose. The long finish is silky smooth. Drink now-12/10.

1/6/2011 10:10:00 AM - Great review, but I don't believe the wine has fully developed yet. While it can be consumed now (with decanting) it will become much better in another couple years.
