Sunday, October 12, 2014 - "2015" Sydney International Wine Show - stewarding notes; 10/11/2014-10/16/2014 (Blue Mountains, NSW): {cork, 13.9%} Not an expensive wine in the US; imported to Oz by Angove’s, but I see no evidence of retail sales anywhere. Wonder what the asking price is here? It’s a plush and fruity cabernet, with plum and mulberry flavour with a touch of blackcurrant. The restrained oak treatment and balanced alcohol save it from wearing the “Napa Cab from Central Casting’ tag to some degree, although there’s plenty of sweet black fruit and liquorice on the palate. It’s full-bodied, with medium/high dusty tannins and very reticent acid, but it’s mostly let down by a rather short finish which rather ruins all that rich flavour. Oh well. For the short term.

11/11/2014 4:10:00 PM - Graemeg - in CAN - is around 23$ which is kind of slightly above the average "entry level" vino's in my Province.
