Tuesday, September 30, 2014 - Tasted as part of my Level 3 WSET Course (Day 3 – Italy, Spain, Portugal, USA and Canada). Clear pale ruby in the glass, the nose is clean, decent intensity (med(+)) with bright red fruits and floral notes. Palate is dry, with med(+) acidity and alcohol, and medium body, intensity and tannin. The red fruits are not as bright now as on the nose – more stewed / compote, with brambles and tobacco. Nice but not great.
