Thursday, February 26, 2015 - Medium plum red. Damson plum skin nose. Tannins pervade the bouquet, taste and finish. But this is what I like about Barolo: the interplay of tannin, fruit and extended traditional oak puncheon aging. Made by a large coop, this is not one of the great, fine examples of the DOCG. But … it is indicative of the area, well made, and a fine example of the nebbiolo grape. All in all, a nice value for under $20/btl.
