Thursday, May 28, 2015 - Popped and poured, deep ruby hue. Pronounced aromas of cigar box, cassis, plummy fruits, smoked herbs and a touch of roasted red bell pepper. Has a certain elegance in mouth...not light per se yet lithe nonetheless. Black fruits, black currant, tobacco plus a huge impression of crushed stones and minerals in the palate. Drying, chewy tannins on the lengthy close. Reminiscent of a classed-growth Graves and while drinking splendidly right now this has the structure to age effortlessly for years, if not decades.
Beautiful Cabernet, a testament to Tim Mondavi.

Quick comment: I'd opt for drinking this in the near term while the fruit is still in sync with the tannins.
