Saturday, November 22, 2014 - This was opened to get a feel for this wine. It was really enjoyable for the first hour. Plenty of tranche fruit, thick blackberry compote and kirsch, and the Syrah kicked in a nice but of cassis. some under currents of the provincial herbs and green peppercorn. Tannins and acid were all in check and it was delicious. However after being open a bit more than an hour thing went all disjointed with tannins and acid getting higher and the weedy part of the granite dominant and fruit faded, with that bitter herbal twang at the end. drink now, but don't decant or vinturi, would be my advice or hold onto this for quite a while. It has everything a very good CdR or Gigondas has, and the stuffing to last. I will probably served at Thanksgiving where it will be consumed fairly quickly as the fruit and balance in that first hour is just great for the family.
