Friday, March 14, 2014 - Cork in near perfect shape considering the age, beautiful ruby coloration with slight bricking. Initial aromas of VA, tar, roses. Let it rest in a decanter for four hours and consumed over the following four hours. The wine was in remarkably good shape, some sediment but not as much as most Baroli of this age, intricate and shifting flavors of roses, leather, and everything else you would expect but all harmonious and balanced with good acidity. Tannin still present, this must have been a beast in the early years. Still going strong eight hours after opening and it was sad to see this beauty go. A very good bottle.
