Friday, July 31, 2015 - Greenish gold in color with a slightly reserved nose, (at least compared to the Aubert)
More Chablis like than the Aubert, the wine took a little while to open. Pit fruit with an acidic backbone and wet stone.
Unfortunately this was my only bottle, because I think I opened too soon.

8/1/2015 5:41:00 PM - Thanks for the comment and rating. We tend to agree if that was your only bottle that you definitely opened too soon...sorry :-( We think this will hit its stride around 2016/7, and we are lucky to have more than several in the cellar to test that theory. We often find Kistlers take time to breath and also age...a bit.

8/7/2015 5:03:00 PM - Buzzoff - I sold my other bottles and regret it somewhat. Luckily I have several older bottles. We just wanted to compare the Kistler and Aubert, same vineyards and the 2012 was the only match we had. Oh well.

8/7/2015 5:45:00 PM - Sad...but we know the feeling. We want to try so many different wines that our Kistler allocation has been sharing a bit each year as we expand into other labels/regions/varietals. Too many wines, not enough time. We enjoy an Aubert from time-to-time. Sea Smoke's Chardonnay is proving a winner!
