Friday, December 12, 2014 - The St. Henri opens with a big nose of blackberry, violet, lavender, licorice, and eucalyptus. this is a full bodied, dense wine with tannins that have softened over the years. On the palate, there are layer after layer of wonderful fruit including blackberry, black raspberry, casis, plum. Chocolate and pepper add a nice final touch. Not a lot of earthy or secondary flavor characteristics here. The wine is still drinking very young. Might wait another 5 years to try the next bottle. this is a fruit forward wine with very subdued oak. A bit one dimensional but really nice to drink.
