Wednesday, May 27, 2015 - Popped and poured, deep yet bright garnet/ruby. Refined, subtlety complex aromas of cherry fruits, florals, soapstone, anise and thai basil underpinned by continually evolving herbaceous notes (forest floor and conifer?). Unfurls beautifully with air. Medium to medium-plus body. As with the nose, immediate cherry fruits on the palate are complimented by flavors of spice and an underlying impression of minerals. Refined, somewhat chalky tannins and a touch of heat on the moderate close. A real beaut.
While this will only improve over the next 3-5+ years it's certainly worth opening right now, just be sure to splash decant for 30-45 minutes.
