Monday, February 8, 2016 - The 2011 Via Nuova is a classic effort in every senses of the word. I was met by a display of dark red fruits, roses, animal musk, brown spice and undergrowth. On the palate, I found beautifully contrasted textures, both silky and vibrant, as notes of rich strawberry, plum, and savory spice mingled with earth and mineral tones. It finished on fine tannin, dried fruits and inner florals. This is a gorgeous wine that has improved in bottle over the last year.
