Saturday, October 10, 2015 - Nice ruby colour with an amber rim. Medium plus intensity and medium complexity nose, with dark red fruits (esp. cherry) dominating underlying spice and earth (with just a hint of tar). Refreshing acidity with medium body and nicely supportive tannins. Flavours of cherry and pomegranate fruit, with a nice intensity at mid-palate that transitions to mild oak spice and subtle earth, with a strong, medium length finish of smokey spice. Not overly complex, but a nice wine, and a good price. Nice drinking on its own, or with mildly flavoured red pastas dishes or pizza.
