Sunday, July 26, 2015 - Served blind; 65% Touriga Nacional, 20%Touriga Franca, 15% Alicante Bouschet; Dark maroon with orange hues at rim; nose is bizarre and exotic with prominent dill and vanilla, strong herbal notes reminiscent of Jäger, dried citrus rind and liqueur like red fruit, with more air this became more plum and fig; palate shows soft tannin, rustic, darker roasted fruit, slight Grand Marnier note, with air the palate comes together nicely showing more focus and structure; color was too dark for Tempranillo but the American oak reminded me of Spain, a tough one to call; a nice wine, though I'm not a big fan of the oak I could appreciate this.
