Saturday, July 18, 2015 - Had this more than a week ago at Park Kitchen in Portland. Yum. One of the best Carlisles I've had in some time, luscious and fruity, deep and smooth, not trying to be Claret and not in the least bit clumsy. Not exactly a terroir wine profile but the phat boysenberry, light herb and chocolate truffle element of the somewhat riper (?) site and the early-drinking pleasure differentiate Papera from some of the other Zins in the lineup. Drink or hold. The perfect wine to hook non-wine people into wine. Stuffy europhiles stay away!
