2004 Bonny Doon Vineyard Chenin Blanc

Community Tasting Note

88 Points

Tuesday, May 23, 2006 - Pale gold. Nutty, citris aromas with notes of cream and yeast. Good intensity and complexity. Medium bodied, bright wine-- lime, lemon, peach and hazelnut flavors backed by flinty notes. Bright acidity gives good length and balances the ample fruit. Hazelnuts, peaches and a touch of honey on the fairly long finish. Nothing like a typical Cali white... I would guess a Loire, tasted blind. Bonny Doon claims this wine is ageworthy (6 or so years of improvement) but I doubt I'll wait that long.
