Community Tasting Note

Tuesday, May 12, 2015 - Opened and let breathe for over an hour during which I tasted at various intervals. Altogether the wine never seemed to open and express itself. Its nose was stingy to the point of being shut down, and later in the evening the faint hint of fruit earlier gave way to a predominant hint of Bourbon and floral fragrances. In mouth the flavors were equally one-dimensional with bright red fruit being most prevalent. The finish was short at best. Given this wine's drinking window, I recommend holding to 2017 until trying again.

5/13/2015 2:30:00 PM - I bought a case of that wine I liked it so much. But each bottle we opened seemed slightly simpler. Eventually, I 'sold' them to my wine club for serving at a big dinner rather than risk holding them. Your note seems like a logical progression of where mine were headed. They might have been just slowing going into that big sleep pinots often love to do, but at not quite three years out seems a bit early.
