Wednesday, March 4, 2015 - Kind of what we expect from a Vernaccia. It is a little oxidized and not all that expressive. Deep golden color. The nose is shy and non distinct. The taste on the palate is dry and gritty peach skin and apricot pit. Medium bodied. Unusually non acidic for an Italian wine. Some time in the glass and swirling helps bring some life to the flavors and aromas. By the finish some earthy, leafy orange rind flavors accompany the unripe peach and mild citrus flavors.
