Wednesday, July 22, 2015 - Willamette Valley Pinot Noir: Light-medium ruby colored. Vibrant and tangy red fruit on the nose (currants, strawberries and raspberries) topped with a significant dose of complex herbal notes (dill pickle, pepper, tobacco), hints of rose hips. Medium-full bodied with some dusty tannins of moderate strength, the acid keeps it slick. Flavors of red cherries, wild strawberries and black cherries…. The earthy/herbal notes (pepper, pickle, wet soil, moss) are delicious and woven in well with the juicy fruit. Notes of cedar, mocha and root beer, too. Complex, lots to show, long finish, could develop significantly more complexity over the next three or four years. 16 months in 40% new French oak.
