85 Points

Monday, April 3, 2006 - After being slightly disappointed with the ’03, I had hoped the ’04 would show me something to get excited about – but no. The aroma was slightly skunky and it never really cleared up. This wine is a fuller body Pinot, but not a very good example of one. The Pinot fruit flavors where lost in the alcohol. And I didn’t enjoy it very much. My wife like the finish which she found smooth. With a few years of cellaring this will improve.

Day two - the wine did improve over night (vacuum sealed) - aroma greatly improved but still was odd. I love Burgundies, but this is not my wine.

I'm hard on Pinots, because when they are made right they are the greatest of wines to me. Some may judge this better but....
Color 2/2, Aroma 3.5/6, Flavors 4/6, Overall 4/6 = 13.5. Parker Score = 2.5 x score plus 50 = 84 plus 1 for my wife. At $29 a bottle, a good, but average bottle at that price point- 85 pts.
