Saturday, June 28, 2014 - At Tom and Susan's farewell dinner. Last wine of the evening, popped and poured, drank over only about 30 minutes.

Really great right out of the bottle. dark color, no signs of aging at the rim Cherry, cedar, earth on the nose. Black fruits, cassis, currants, stewed plums, spice, smoke. Rich mouthfeel. Didn't get the heavy alcohol other tasters have noted. Finish was long and layered, with black currant, savory meats and a charred/smoke on the aftertaste.

This was probably the group's favorite against some pretty heavy competition this evening - 01 Shafer, 00 Bond Vecina, 01 Hundred Acre - This wine is still very young, great now but would wait another few years before trying again. As good as it was, a healthy decant would be advised....
