Friday, April 17, 2015 - Drank during a tasting at the winery. We had two separate pours from two separate bottles. While I can't remember if the 1st bottle was recently opened, I noticed that our pour from the 2nd bottle was the very last of the wine.
From the first bottle: smooth, minerals, earthy mid-palate, less peppery than their Zin, bit of a drying finish. didn't care for this one on their tasting lineup. maybe it's better with food.
Later, we had a second pour from the last of a bottle and it was very good. bigger, mildly spicy, medium-full body. plum/vanilla finish which was long. The flavor improvement must be from the extra oxygen it absorbed. Just goes to show how critical it is to let the wines open up.
