Saturday, March 7, 2015 - Although greeted by a distinctly '11 nose with ancho chilies and dried herbs, I was surprised how much I enjoyed this wine, never wanting the bottle to end. In one word I'd call it "pretty." Fresh and lively, with bright red fruit and a sense of tension, like eating a gusher candy but never quite getting it to gush. Piney herbs and dried tobacco were quite complimentary. Tannins were fine, modest and pleasurable, and acidity cleaned up nicely on the finish. Body was a hair past medium and the wine was well balanced. As refreshing of a Cabernet as I think I've ever tasted.
