Monday, April 6, 2015 - Pours very clear pale greenish yellow.
On the nose, cat pee, skunk and what I suppose gooseberries smell like.
On the palate, green herbal flavors, bell peppers and grass balanced against an impressive array of tropical fruit, passionfruit, grapefruit, lime, starfruit. Significant body and concentration. Finish is long and acidic with some mineral notes.
I am not a big NZ Sauv Blanc drinker, but I can see why this is considered the standard. It's an impeccably made wine. I wanted to see if the quality justifies the price and the hype and I think that it does.
