90 Points

Thursday, June 25, 2015 - Mencia appears to be quite a chameleon of a grape, which (depending on the style of winemaking) can mimic Pinot Noir (Raul Perez) or Cabernet Franc (Pittacum) and judging from this bottle even Barbera! Delicious and stylish, soft tannins, ripe fruit and warm spices, fresh acidity, clean and intense berry flavours, very good length. Lovely stuff. A business lunch, restaurant Lute, Ouderkerk aan de Amstel, NL.
