1999 Château Lagrange (St. Julien)

Community Tasting Note

Tuesday, June 19, 2012 - If I didn't know Lagrange well, I'd have been surprised this was so good. Good nose of cedar, black cherry and even pencil filings. In the mouth, blackcurrants, cherries and blackberries, then a wave of redcurrant and a touch of cranberry. Good acidity, giving it a bite and freshness that is really appealing. No hurry to finish these, I wouldn't say it will improve, but this has a good five to seven years left in it. Excellent QPR and clearly underestimated.
