95 Points

Friday, November 24, 2006 - Okay, I opened it...and it was well worth it. My experience was very different from what I anticipated. The body of this wine was not as thick and syrupy as other people have commented on. As a matter of fact, it was not very tannic at all, as there was very little heat and the finish was medium to short. The flavor profile was as excellent as I expected, and the grenache was clearly the dominant grape. As it opened it gained more fruit and by the second hour it was at its peak. I will try to get some more of this, even at a $75+ price range.
