Thursday, May 24, 2012 - Wow - what a powerful wine and delicious wine! I can understand why some think that this is too much. However, for my own opinon I love this wine but I must admit after a half bottle I am fully satisfied. The wine boasts a powerful nose you can smell a meter away from the glass. Starting with redberries and herbes coming quickly into the heavier notes of spice and tons of overripe black fruit including black cherries, blackberry and black currant. Sipping to the glass, your palate is immediately covered by this big full-bodied wine of concentrated black fruits with perfect tannins leaving just the right amount of sweetness (maybe a fraction too sweet). Once again a wine that taste as the bouquet (For my personnal opinion, that is what I want to find in a superb wine and Chateauneuf du Pape almost always delivers that) including red berries and herbes on top which is taken over fast by spice and black fruits.

It drinks perfectly today, and I must admit I have no clue to where this will be in 10 years time, but my guess is, that it will not have changed much. Excellent wine!
