Sunday, January 10, 2016 - Nowhere as earthy as the 2011, this has that New Zealand soft pinot structure going on at first, with softer, darker fruit. I'm not sure it benefits this wine - the black tangy fruit works well when it is reigned back a bit and has a bit of bite on it. For now a decant is recommended, or better yet 2-3 years in the cellar. Still a good wine - but I'd seek out more crunchy vintages.
