Meticulously crafted from both our oldest and most precious blocks, we are proud to introduce “The Elders,” our new signature Cabernet Sauvignon from our Stags Leap District ranch. By carefully emphasizing fruit from 30-year-old vineyards, we are able to distinguish this 100% Estate Cabernet Sauvignon with the rich complexity and sophistication that only “old men” vines can contribute. “The Elders” serves as a tribute to my ancestors who spent endless hours working our land and planting our oldest vines. We are honored to finally showcase these vineyards and share this wine with you for the first time. The 2012 Regusci Elders is layered with aromas of blueberry, cigar box, dry spice rub and bacon fat flavors. The wine has great fruit purity on the palate, superbly balanced by the savory notes. While this wine has a soft entry, it has a very broad mid-palate and a firm backbone; it is truly a wine with an iron fist in a velvet glove. This Cabernet Sauvignon will reward careful cellaring for eight to twelve years.
