Sunday, April 25, 2010 - My second time tring this wine within the last six months. The first was my bottle while this I bought off the list at the Inn at Thorn Hill in Jackson, NH. I was sceptical at first because this was a bottle salvaged from a major fire at the inn in 2002. It even had a label saying it had been sanitized due to fire. The price was quite reasonable at $130. When I questioned the somalier on the condition of the bottle he didn't hesitate to say that if I frlt the bottle was in any way cooked he wouldn' charge me for it with no questions asked. I had him decant it two hours prior to diinner. Upon opening I noticed the cork was pristine! The nose was sweet with no evidence of spoilage. When decanted I made an initial try and was simply amazed by the wine! i could tell this would be something special. With dinner this just continued to move from strength to strength. Dazling nose of rose petals with creosote around the edges. Beautifull balance with tanins present enough to enhance the structure. This wine is in wonderfull place right now and was simply stunned by it's greatness regardless of the bottles history.
