Sunday, January 31, 2016 - Bottom neck fill, cork half way soaked but extracted with Durand without any issues. Initial mustiness on the nose made me worried hence decanted for about 30 min which luckily made the mustiness disappear, and drank the bottle over the following 2 hours. Forest floor, dark fruit and some cedar on the nose. On the palate there is also pencil lead. Very classy Bordeaux profile and exceptional fruit concentration for a 1990 at age 25 on the motor oil like palate. Truly amazing what Lagrange produced here. Would be interesting as a pirate in a say 1996 First Growth horizontal or a Latour vertical as one might mistake this for a much bigger wine that has not fully opened yet. At this stage however not the most expressive aromatic profile or complexity, somewhat monolithic infact, and did not get the impression this will develop further with more bottle age during the 2h or so this was in the decanter. All that more air brought out was some leather and tobacco notes. Medium finish. Do not think this will improve but will certainly last for 10+ years
