Tuesday, September 15, 2015 - I think here somewhere it says that the drinking window for this wine is closing this year or next. Not sure about that: I think I opened it too soon. It opened to great potential, but then went into a long uneven stage, changing constantly but never fully balanced. It finally hit that balance with about a glass left in the bottle. Then it did quickly begin to fade, although not an unappealing fade. Anyway, it tastes like the definition of French Burgundy; you would never confuse this with a pinot from anywhere else. It deserves to be paired with food for kings and queens. We had it with a grass-fed steak marinated with this wine, garlic, and spices and then barbequed. Very good combo, but I wonder if something more truly Burgundian would have been better.
