90 Points

Tuesday, August 30, 2011 - Mocha, cocoa dust, chocolate, blackcherries, menthol, vanilla, cream, tobacco, mint. Dark purple to the rim with bold legs belying its 12% ABV. Tasted like it smelled with Full mouth fell with fine tannins and good spice and acidity on a medium finish. VERY nice for this price point. Shocking how well this wine opened and drank at this price point.

Day two and the wine continues to impress. While the fruit has 'slightly' muted it still is present on the nose significantly although there is more tobacco, smoke, cedar and camphor than yesterday. Legs remain consistent with yesterday as well as color. Mouth feel remains consistent but the wine is not pronounced on the palate as yesterday but the finish remains consistent. The palate is slightly muted or flat.
