93 Points

Friday, May 15, 2009 - nose: wonderful and deep nose filled with glycerin, rich tones of cassis, dark cherries, cedar, berries, and bits of melted black licorice. Extremely elegant on the nose with a real youthful zest to it that makes it extremely attractive

taste: great depth and purity with big tannins backed by a full bodied feel with wonderful tones of glycerin, cassis, dark cherries, cedar, and all sorts of dark berry tones. The tannins are very big right now, and this is obviously very young

overall: this is a blockbuster in the making. While maybe not on the same level as the 90 and 03, this to me had a lot of similarity to the 82, and there'd be nothing wrong with that at all. This just oozes elegance and richness with deft balance, a real treat to drink
