2005 Château Léoville Poyferré

Community Tasting Note

Tuesday, March 8, 2011 - Expressive aromas of blackberry, pencil shaving, floral and deep mineral core that provide the freshness and added better complexity with ash and smoke. Fresh, the integration is superb that resulted in a very dense wine with lots of power but has this lightness and elegance to it, the mouth watering acidity keep the wine in great focus with razor sharp precision. This 2005 Poyferre is flirting with its youth and integration, silky fine long finish, there is a little trace of alcohol heat poking out at the very end which distract a little bit. Buy - Maybe.
