Monday, August 24, 2009 - Decanted for 3 hours. The 2005 Lanessan had a dark ruby/purple core and a ruby rim. On the nose, there was subtle aromas of leather, cassis, tobacco and spice. On the palate, it was medium bodied and rich. It had some acidity and ripe tannins. The finish was medium.
Drink now with at least 3 hours of decanting and it should drink well for 10 years.
